Give back and give light
The
goodwill program is a way
to give and give back at the same time. Every year,
goodwill designates a
select group of colors to benefit local and national organizations contributing to cancer
patient care, cancer research and the environment. These causes are close to the heart
of
founder Lee Rhodes, who waged a 7-year battle with lung cancer.
Currently, the goodwill collection includes: goldenrod (proceeds donated to the M.D. Anderson
Cancer Center to help Hurricane Katrina victims receiving cancer treatment), grandma
jane’s caramel (proceeds to help provide tuition assistance for University of Washington
students pursuing a career in cancer nursing), true white (benefiting the Seattle Cancer
Care Alliance), bedford brown (commissioned by Martha Stewart – proceeds donated to Hole in
the Wall Gang, a no-fee camp for youth, ages 7 to 15, with cancer and serious blood diseases)
and dream (benefiting Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle).
donates 10% or $4
from every sale from the goodwill collection.
