About glassybaby

glassybaby was founded in 2001 by Lee Rhodes, a three time cancer survivor. Finding solace in the beauty of glassybaby, she started selling them to her family and friends out of her garage, and moved to her first retail studio in 2003. A glassybaby is physically a small colored, glass cup, candleholder, or vase. The light of a candle coming through the glassybaby generates more; it gives warmth to a cold day, a calm token of peace in the busy world. glassybaby are a metaphor to symbolize hope, are humble in spirit but not in beauty.

glassybaby are hand-blown in Seattle by glass artisans in a myriad of seasonal colors with names like Wet Dog, Seattle Sunset, Comfort and First Kiss. To date, the glassybaby goodwill program has donated over $300,000 through sales of selected colors to cancer-related charities. Their packaging is environmentally friendly and 100% recyclable. glassybaby sell for $40 each and can be purchased at the studio/store in Madrona, by phone or at www.glassybaby.com.
