Honoring the strongest love this Mother’s Day

As we approach Mother’s Day, we’re honoring the many forms that motherhood takes. Whether you are a mother by birth, an aunt who steps in with open arms, a dog mom, a plant whisperer, or a nurturer of two- or four-legged creatures—you are a giver. You embody care, compassion, and strength. 

This week, we’re especially humbled to share a few words from moms who have faced the unimaginable: guiding their children through a cancer diagnosis.  

Thanks to our incredible partner, The B+ Foundation, we’ve had the privilege of hearing from some of these extraordinary women. In the midst of it all, these mothers took the time to share a little bit of their story—with courage, honesty, and grace. 

Each mom offered a glimmer of light from her journey—matching words of love, grit, and wisdom with a favorite glassybaby color. Together, they reflect the strength of motherhood, even in the hardest moments. 

B+ (short for Be Positive) honors the life of Andrew McDonough, a 14-year-old who died of leukemia and continues to inspire a legacy of love, generosity, and strength. Today, the foundation supports families of children with cancer through financial assistance, emotional support, and funding critical childhood cancer research. From helping cover hospital bills and travel expenses, to simply being there when a family needs someone to lean on, B+ shows up—just like the mothers we’re honoring this week. 

To walk alongside your child through a cancer diagnosis is to enter a world no parent ever imagines. It requires courage in the face of fear, resilience during sleepless nights, and fierce advocacy to become the voice for your child. These mothers must become medical researchers, caregivers, emotional anchors, and relentless optimists—all while managing their own heartbreak.
