You can add an etching to the glassybaby, a personal note to the order or include a custom video message.

In cart you can add a personalized note (up to 90 characters) to your order, completing the perfect gift. When your order is packed and fulfilled, careful attention is taken as our team handwrites your note on a card and places it under the bow.

You can add a video message to any glassybaby from the product page just below the add to cart button. After you complete checkout and receive your order confirmation, you will receive an email with a link to record your video. You can take as many recordings as you like to capture the perfect message. The glassybaby foundation is a 501(c)3 based in Seattle, Washington created to support organizations that promote hope and healing. To date, we have donated over $14 million to those in need.

Non-profit organizations are chosen by the board of our glassybaby foundation.

glassybaby was founded in Seattle, Washington in 2001 by cancer survivor, Lee Rhodes. During chemotherapy, Lee met many patients who could not afford their basic needs during treatment. When Lee founded glassybaby, it was with the core mission of helping to alleviate these struggles.

The first glassybaby color was true white.

We employ over 60 glassblowers at our Seattle and Montana hot shops.

Depending on the complexity of each glassybaby, teams can consist of 3 to 6 glassblowers.

All of our names are chosen by our founder, Lee Rhodes. She draws inspiration from the color, season and experiences in her life. Her son, Mericos Rhodes, writes all of the poems.

We hand-blow all our glassybaby, drinkers and rockers in the USA. Our hot shops are in Seattle, WA, Redmond, WA and Livingston, MT.

Transparent is clear enough to see the entire tea light and flame.

Translucent is just clear enough to see a glimpse of the tea light and flame.

Luster has a metallic finish inside the glassybaby with a mirrored effect.

Opaque allows a beautiful glow without being able to see the tea light or flame.

Our hand-blown glassybaby, drinkers and rockers are made in the USA by skilled glassblowers. They are one-of-a-kind pieces of art. The price variance ranges based on the complexity of each glassybaby.

Each glassybaby is hand-crafted by our team of skilled artisan glassblowers and is as unique as you and I. Every color is crafted with clear glass, color bar, and technique. However, artistic interpretation and environment may affect the finished product. As always glassybaby go through a thorough quality control process to ensure only the most perfectly imperfect make it into the world.

The world has evolved for all of us over the past year.

In order to continue production in alignment with protecting the artisans who craft each glassybaby, we had to change and adjust our hand-crafted production system. In addition to our internal production changes, the external forces have changed as well, resulting in cost increases of our materials, supplies and resources.

These changes and increases combined have made each unique glassybaby cost much more to make. After careful consideration, we re-evaluated our glassybaby pricing to better reflect the actual cost of producing each precious work of art. As always, every glassybaby gives.

glassybaby candleholders come in four series, called Core, Treasure, Exotic, and Lavish.  

·      Core colors are the classics - made from a single layer of colored glass hand-blown between two layers of clear glass. The vast majority of our colors are core. $60. 

·      Treasure colors are crafted with metal frit, multiple colors or other glassblowing techniques to achieve a metallic shine. $90.

·      Exotic colors can only be crafted by our highest-skilled glassblowers, using frit, double-overlay color techniques, custom color bars, and special molds to create unique patterns of color and light. $125.

·      Lavish colors expand the boundaries of the art of glassblowing, while offering our community an unprecedented level of unique beauty. These are often limited-edition products with particular prices that reflect that.

No, it will crack. The base of drinkers and rockers aren’t thick enough to sustain heat generated from the tea light. glassybaby votives, on the other hand, have a clear, thick base designed to absorb heat and resist cracking.

No. All of our glass should be hand-washed only with a non-abrasive cleaner.

Using common household glass cleaners is the best way to clean your glassybaby. Spray some on the waxy area and let sit for 5 minutes. Use a plastic spoon to gently remove the wax. Wipe clean with a paper towel or microfiber cloth.

Use a gentle cleanser and warm water. Wipe dry with a paper towel or microfiber cloth.

All our tealights are sustainably made and do not emit toxins when burned. They come in clear cups to allow for a full glowing effect when lit, and are longer lasting and brighter than average tealights. Our beeswax tea lights are from Good Light beeswax obtained directly from the beekeeper. Our palm wax tealights are ISO-certified.

Our palm wax and beeswax tealights burn 4 to 5 hours each.

Our scented tealight candles burn 11 hours.

All of our color pigments are made in the USA, and all of the colors we use to customize your design by hand are made in the USA.

Yes, our experienced etching team creates each design by hand. From there, every votive is etched in-house by hand in our Redmond shop/studio.
