As we move closer to the holiday season, giving naturally becomes more present in our lives. But at glassybaby, we believe giving is something to be celebrated all year long. It reminds us that we’re not alone—that our lives overlap, that we matter to one another, and that compassion can guide the way we move through the world.
As we near 16 million dollars in giving over the last two decades, we’re excited to share another meaningful way to spread light.
Through our Light it Forward campaign, giving becomes a chain—one person passing a glassybaby to someone whose life has been touched by cancer, who then passes that light to another.

It begins with a single flame. Someone opens a glassybaby, lights it, and their space glows a little warmer. Then they think of someone else—a friend, a neighbor, a loved one—who could use that same comfort. That spark becomes a gift, and that gift becomes a chain. One by one, these tiny beacons of hope travel from home to home, carrying quiet stories of strength and care.
By the end of 2025, we aim to gift 16,000 Light it Forward votives, creating a ripple of kindness that connects thousands. Each recipient can nominate another person touched by cancer—spreading warmth one flame at a time.
If you know someone who could use a little light, we’d love for you to nominate them on our Light it Forward page.

We recently received this beautiful note from Allison, and wanted to share her words:
“Thank you for doing the Light it Forward campaign. I encouraged several friends to nominate loved ones who received a glassybaby, and each one was overcome with gratitude—many cried when they opened it.
Even those who had never heard of glassybaby felt the significance right away. When they learn your story, it becomes even more meaningful, but the simple beauty alone seems to speak for itself.
You are lighting up lives and providing peace to people who never thought they would feel peace again.
I’ve received several glassybabys through the years and can tell you the story behind each one. Every time I light them, I think of the person and the moment behind that gift.
Thank you for the generosity, love, and peace you’re spreading to thousands of people.”
