Nourishing Soil, Nourishing Community: How Farm to School Park County Is Growing More Than Food

Farm to School Park County garden

At glassybaby, we believe the most meaningful gifts don’t just brighten a home—they nourish the spirit. That’s why we’re proud to support Farm to School Park County with over $40,000 to help transform an underused lot into a vibrant community garden. Now officially open, this space is growing more than food—it’s growing connection, learning, and a sense of belonging for everyone who gathers there.

Farm to school garden then and now

These aren’t just gardens—they’re gathering places where students, families, and farmers connect. Everyone, regardless of background, can take part in growing, preparing, and sharing nourishing food.

“This is the most excited I’ve ever been to eat a carrot in my life.” – Sixth grade student

At the most basic level, food and soil are what we all share. When we tend to them, we build more than meals—we build connections, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

Farm to School Park County is rooted in this care. By bringing fresh, local food into schools and teaching kids how it grows, they’re transforming how rural Montana communities eat, learn, and come together. Through gardens, cooking lessons, and farmer partnerships, they’re turning fresh food into common ground.

“My 7-year-old knows how to plant and care for vegetables that we don’t even grow in our garden. My 10-year-old knows which vitamins and minerals come from vegetables. All of this is due to Farm to School.” -Court Harris, Parent

Their “Harvest of the Month” program brings Montana-grown foods into classrooms and school lunches. Their garden education programs let students get their hands in the dirt, learning not just how food grows—but how patience, collaboration, and curiosity grow too. Their internships and youth programs foster pride and purpose in young people, giving them real ways to contribute to their community and future.

This is the kind of lasting impact every glassybaby supports. When you gift with purpose—whether to honor someone or simply send light—you help fund organizations like Farm to School Park County.

What we nurture, grows. And when we care for food, soil, and each other, we grow more than gardens—we grow healing, belonging, and community.

Together, we’re investing in full plates, curious minds, and a future rooted in connection. So, when you choose a gift that gives back, you’re lighting more than a candle. You’re helping grow something deeply good.
